2BGF supports many local communitieswith their customized programs primarily in Lesotho.

This program helps individuals and groups in communities, to be granted the opportunities to be expressive in voicing their views on what affect them. 

 

The services & projects

The services provided under this program are:

  1. Research – understanding their demise in the locality
  2. Capacity Building – Training to capacitate community building players.
  3. Creating Awareness–Increasing awareness on the communities to help them develop further economically and otherwise.

b) The projects aligned with the services under this program are:

  1. Love Your District – Encouraging teamwork and volunteerism to projects that impact on the local communities in the various districts of Lesotho.
  2. Love Lesotho – Bringing together the Creative Industries in Lesotho into one locality toward the promotion and appreciation art, culture and tourism as a collective industry for the country.

The beneficiaries

BAM Group foundation empowers women (and youth) as individuals to be able to operate in their own individual circumstances or within a group or support structure setting.

In particular it focuses its attention on the following groups:

  1. The communities in need of development
  2. Segments of community for which there is a need  to bridge the gap of development

This program encourages and assists women and youth towards engagement and leadership and recognitionwithin their societies.

It also helps those marginalized, particularly women and youth, who are faced with adversities, towards regaining their dignity and social position within their homes and communities.

Such women (and youth) are those who have particularly experienced:

  1. GenderBased Violence
  2. Gender Based Discrimination
  3. Gender Based Harassment

These are victims who find themselves emotionally and physically deprived of their (basic) human rights. The support is facilitated by established and proficient professionals in their chosen fields to help these marginalized groups.

The Objective(s)

The support, among other things, achieves the following objective:

  • To improve the living standards of vulnerable women through progressive transformation.
  • Equip women and youth with skills for economic participation and self-reliance.
  • Improve participation by women in leadership positions

The services & projects

a) The services provided under this program are:

  1. Research – getting information on the status quo on the ground
  2. Capacity Building – Training to capacitate victims with skills towards independence, freedom and economic emancipation.
  3. Creating Awareness - Awareness on marginalization within societies to potential victims, the potential afflicters of marginalization, leaders and society at large.
  4. Facilitations – linking victims, with organizations for placement, intervention, or creating platforms for engagement with women and youth.

b) The projects aligned with the services under this program are:

            WOMEN FOCUSED

  1. Know Your Rights, Know Your Obligations (KYRKYO) – Addressing important issues that face women every day and which are sometimes difficult to address due to ignorance.
  2. Women Appreciation Awards (FWAA)– Creating an opportunity for women to excel in various ways towards their empowerment, and recognizing them at an national platform to motivate other women to perform better, and create an improved level of appreciation for the works of women.
  3. Women Leadership Program  (WLP) – Leveraging a platform for women to make use of the available resources and opportunities towards making them  leaders in their communities and localities, as well as in an international platform.
  4. Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) –A program destined to improve women’s  capacity to bring about economic change for themselves.

YOUTH FOCUSED

  1. Girls To Women (GTW) – targeted at young females to equip them of the opportunities and challenges that face them  towards grooming them for the future
  2. Boys To Men (BTM)– targeted at young males to equip them of opportunities and challenges that face them towards grooming them for the future
  3. Youth Edutainment Portal (YEP) – an informative platform for the youth on progressive issues for their empowerment

Entrepreneurs

This program provides essential entrepreneurship skills (and services) especially to new entrants in the field of business.

It has specific components of Women, Youth and Entrepreneurs in general, specifically designed to address their various plight in towards economic freedom.

BGF provides direction and opportunities to aspiring and emerging individuals to enable them eradicate poverty in their lives and contribute significantly to reducing unemployment/non-productivity in Lesotho as a whole.  The development programs are facilitated by established and proficient professionals in their chosen fields.

The training, among other things, achieves the following objectives:

  1. Equip beneficiaries with basic skills to identify business opportunities, write their business plans, craft viable business strategies and/orstart and grow their businesses

BGF understands that for initiatives to grow, they need to be interlinked with external bodies.  It therefore assists its beneficiaries to establish links for opportunities of evolvement by Facilitating grants, partnerships, funding & investment opportunities.  Specifically for entrepreneurs, BGF facilitates programs to Start and Improve their Businesses.

Generate Your Business Idea (GYBI) - BGF Services for Aspiring Entrepreneurs:

A training programme conducted to develop creative thinking among aspiring and existing entrepreneurs on potential businesses that they can establish.

Start Your Business (SYB) - BGF Services for Aspiring & Growing Entrepreneurs:

A training programme conducted by leading entrepreneurs, particularly to help entrepreneurs develop their own business plans. It has a practical curriculum that covers a wide range of business topics, a mentoring programme, a consulting service and aspires to ultimately have a library and computer center.

Improve Your Business (IYB) - BGF Services for Growing Entrepreneurs:

BGF offers among others, off-site training programmes which are tailored towards staff development in various Organizations. Under this programme, we institute a series of modules through which BGF  ensures that employees of such beneficiary organizations receive the training they need for improved productivity and personal development which go a long way to improving the organization’s bottom line.­­­

Composed of BGF monthly business workshops and BGF capacity building services, it equips the beneficiaries with business skills through Ongoing Entrepreneurial Training targeting specific areas of development

Graduates of tertiary institutions

  • With over 5 members
  • With a business model

Provision is however made for individuals who do not match the above requirements but demonstrate a poise to achieve success in business.
